- ➤ Community members gathered Saturday at TR White Complex for a Youth Violence Conflict Resolution Seminar (from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.), where skits were performed, school supplies were handed out and local law enforcement, firefighters and Lane College staff shared new ways to prevent future violence in Jackson. - ➤ Crime Stoppers is hosting a golf tournament on June 2 at Jackson National Golf Course, with teams of four costing $500 & tee box sponsorships for $100 available, and those interested can call 731.424.8477 to sign up. WYN 106.9

- ➤ On April 10, West Tennessee FFA announced its new regional officer team for 2025-2026. The team includes Ann Thomas Lowery as President from Dyersburg, Carson Osteen as Vice President from Haywood County, Baylea Walton as Secretary from Covington, Olivia Garner as Treasurer from Westview, Cori Hopkins as Reporter from Paris, Lilly Powers as Sentinel from Scott’s Hill and Regional Coordinator Josh Eason, who will serve the organization over the coming year. - ➤ Tony Shutes retired from coaching at Jackson Christian after 38 years—34 coaching high school and 4 coaching middle school basketball—and ended his career in the sport. The Jackson Post
