- ➤ The Gibson County EMS Public Safety Committee held a meeting to discuss a proposed ambulance service that may speed up emergency response in the community. Mayor Scottie Betts said more data is needed before moving forward by budget season. WYN 106.9
- ➤ After a fire destroyed a home on North Hays Avenue last Friday, Jackson firefighter Derick Fuller is gathering donations to support his family at *Gentlemen’s Cuts* on Whitehall Street while New St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church also collects contributions. WNBJ 39
- ➤ Madison County Parks and Recreation has announced a new splash pad for one local park funded by a state grant; construction will begin in spring and finish by summer — the fenced 3,300 sqft area will have an attendant for visitor safety. WYN 106.9
- ➤ Residents dropped off Christmas trees from Dec. 30 to Jan. 8 at three Jackson locations for Chipping of the Greens by the City and Keep Jackson Beautiful, and mulch will be available for pick up on Jan. 17 from 8-12 pm or until supplies run out. WYN 106.9
