  • A Facebook post from Four Seasons Nursery in Jackson announced sled sales and has been shared over 90 times as residents prepare for winter fun. The nursery will offer these sleds as locals plan for snowy weekends.  WNBJ 39

  • The City of Jackson is preparing temporary warming shelters at First Methodist and T.R. White Sportsplex for families as extreme winter weather arrives this weekend; Mayor Scott Conger asks residents to volunteer by Thursday (training is set for Friday afternoon) to keep them open.  WBBJ-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Icy weather will affect the Jackson area later this week. Local experts advise drivers to check tire wear, carry extra car supplies, and slow down to maintain safe distances (prepare, protect, and prevent) if travel is necessary.  WNBJ 39

  • Tennessee football ended its 2025 season unranked in both Top 25 polls after an 8-5 record and a 30-28 loss to Illinois in the Music City Bowl; final polls released Jan. 20 mark the first unranked finish since 2021.  The Jackson Sun
  • Tuesday night, the Westview lady Chargers earned their sixth consecutive win by beating Peabody in a spirited game. The team showed strong teamwork to secure their win streak.  WBBJ-TV
