- ➤ The City of Jackson and First United Methodist Church will extend emergency warming services for the homeless through Monday morning, Feb. 2 — men can shelter at T.R. White Sports Complex at 304 N. Hays while women and children are served at the Mission Center on 200 S. Church St. WBBJ-TV

- ➤ Tennessee Industrial Printing in Jackson added a new RMGT 920 Series 8P press in December, which is now fully operational. The new press (36-inch) is the only one of its kind in West Tennessee and boosts the printer’s advanced service capabilities. WBBJ-TV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Arctic air brought deep freezing and power outages over the weekend to parts of Tennessee (including areas near Jackson). Crews continue restoring power as meteorologists warn another winter storm could hit the East Coast later this week. WBBJ-TV

- ➤ Reports from TEMA show hazardous winter weather continues statewide after overnight freezing rain and sleet caused over 219,979 power outages. Crews work on road salting and power restoration while forecasters warn single-digit temperatures tonight may cause refreezing and travel hazards. WBBJ TV
- ➤ Jackson Police and Madison County Fire Rescue warned drivers and families today about black ice and unsafe frozen ponds while advising on fire-safe heating practices amid a seven-day State of Emergency declared Jan. 23. The Jackson Sun
