- ➤ United Way of West Tennessee will host its 2026 First Ladies’ Luncheon on Apr. 16 at the Jackson Fairgrounds with TableScapes preview starting at 10:30 a.m. and the program running until 1 p.m. as Angela Williams serves as keynote speaker. WNBJ 39

- ➤ The Monarch Collective opened in downtown with eleven suites now full and six businesses sharing the space for creative professionals. Owner Rachel Moore said interested parties can schedule a walk-through via Facebook or call (731) 609-3295. WBBJ-TV
- ➤ Sand’s Florist in Jackson was busy shipping 100 bouquets Friday morning as customers reacted quickly, with the owner saying that snow & ice had slowed early orders. The business is experiencing its busiest time of year and draws hundreds of visitors from across West Tennessee. WNBJ 39
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Bumpus Harley-Davidson in Jackson is hosting 'Broken Hearts and Burnouts' today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — offering wine and bourbon tastings, cigars and gift basket giveaways for those attending solo or with a partner. WNBJ 39
- ➤ St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Jackson will hold a free Choral Evensong on Feb. 22 featuring music by Coleridge-Taylor (historic Black composer) and Florence Price to mark Black History Month. The event celebrates these influential figures in music. WNBJ 39
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Shereka Phinnessee, a career and technical education teacher at Parkview Prep Academy in east Jackson, was named Educator of the Week by the Tennessee Education Lottery. She now is eligible for Educator of the Month and encouraged others to follow their passion for teaching (a method she practices daily). WBBJ-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance urges residents to learn about earthquake insurance options during February, Earthquake Awareness Month—since most policies do not cover quake damage. The agency also advises practicing safety steps during an earthquake for better preparedness. WBBJ-TV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ 18 high school students across West Tennessee are leading a nine-week heart health awareness campaign that trains peers in CPR and stroke prevention (their work will be celebrated at the West Tennessee Go Red for Women event on March 26 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center). WBBJ-TV
