  • Icehouse of Jackson invites residents to submit their favorite soup, salad, sandwich or appetizer recipe for a chance to be featured as a weekend lunch special; owner Dina Capizzi selects one recipe weekly to celebrate local favorites.  WBBJ-TV
  • Councilman Johnny Dodd launched the Men on the Move Tour Friday morning at Arlington Elementary School to connect positive male role models with local students. The program invites community leaders, business owners & others to offer mentorship and support to youth in the area.  WBBJ-TV
  • JSCC President Carol Rothstein was named the Jackson Rotary Club's Woman of the Year for 2025 on Feb. 20 for her leadership in the community (the award honors Madison County women over 40), and she has led the college since Oct. 2023.  WNBJ 39

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Laboris Weddle, a special education teacher at North Parkway Middle School who credits the Hope Scholarship for his success, has been named Educator of the Week by the Tennessee Education Lottery. He is now eligible for the Educator of the Month award, representing three generations of teaching in his family.  WBBJ-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Restaurant inspection scores from Feb. 16-20 show several Jackson venues earned perfect 100 ratings, including LuLu’s Coffee Shop (Feb. 20) and Jackson Academy Kitchen (Feb. 20), while a few regional spots received lower marks such as Waffle House at 93.  WBBJ-TV

SPORTS NEWS

  • Westview lady Chargers advanced to the district championship after defeating Peabody 8 minutes ago, with Zach Jones reporting the decisive win that moves the team further this season.  WBBJ-TV
  • After a Knox County court denied Joey Aguilar extra eligibility, Tennessee football will hold a three-man quarterback contest—featuring recruit George MacIntyre, recruit Faizon Brandon, and transfer Ryan Staub—at spring practice on March 16. Aguilar will try for an NFL combine spot on Feb. 27.  The Jackson Sun
  • The South Side lady Hawks won against Lexington, punching their ticket to the district championship. The game concluded 22 minutes ago + highlighted a crucial win for the team.  WBBJ-TV
