  • On Saturday, Feb. 21, The Formed church held a community block party on Carriage House Drive in north Jackson where attendees enjoyed free groceries, hot food, haircuts and bouncy houses for kids while leaders offered community resources until supplies ran out.  WBBJ-TV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Saturday night the Jackson-Madison Chamber hosted its 25th Jewel Awards at the Carl Perkins Civic Center to honor local businesses including Serenity Living Home Care, Taylor Medical Center, Client Comprehensive Services, and Turning Heads Hair Salon. Executive director Don McCorry urged ongoing support for youth development & equity.  WBBJ-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • Actor Nick Darnell returned to Jackson Saturday to host a Model & Talent Expo (at the Ned McWherter West Tennessee Cultural Arts Center) that featured a meet & greet and open auditions for aspiring talent. He said the event was meant to connect local prospects with industry professionals.  WBBJ-TV

  • Local high school basketball scores were posted 9 hours ago, showing the results of games played earlier today among area teams.  WYN 106.9
  • The Westview Chargers won their district semifinals game against Union City earlier today (reported by Zach Jones) and moved forward in the tournament.  WYN 106.9
  • Wilk's Dugout hosted its annual 'Rip Night' Saturday evening — a family-friendly event where sports card collectors gathered to open packs and enjoy games, prizes, and giveaways at its longtime Jackson location.  WBBJ-TV
