- ➤ Fleet Feet in Jackson is partnering with the Rotary Club for a shoe donation drive until March 14; gently used shoes dropped off at 398 Oil Well Road support the Heart and Sole initiative (which helps provide footwear for local elementary students). WNBJ 39
- ➤ At the 3rd Annual 100 Women Who Care Awards Luncheon at First United Methodist Church in Jackson, the Community Foundation of West Tennessee awarded $15,000 in grants to local nonprofits on Thursday. Carroll County Rescue Squad received $5,000 to install a free Lifejacket Loan Station at Lake Halford + Hannah’s Hope got $10,000 for parenting supplies. WBBJ-TV
- ➤ Martin community launched a campaign to raise $200,000 for new firefighter breathing equipment after a town hall meeting showed outdated gear — organizers partnered with WE Care for donations and volunteers, and held an interest meeting on March 5 at Martin’s Coffee and Bakery to plan next steps. - ➤ Brownsville and Haywood County are part of a National Park Service study of Memphis-area lynching sites.
