  • Donnell Century Farm at 3720 Hwy 70 East is celebrating spring with a weekend of events — including a Tulip Festival featuring over 100,000 blooming tulips and an Easter Bunny visit with egg hunts for families.  WBBJ-TV
  • The Le Bonheur League of Jackson hosted its 9th annual GenerosiTea Party on Sunday at Twin Oaks (Humboldt) to raise funds for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Guests enjoyed crafts, a silent auction, vendors and a fashion show during the fundraiser.  WBBJ-TV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Local bird lovers can prepare for the ruby-throated hummingbirds expected to arrive after the first week of April; experts advise putting out feeders with a 4:1 water & sugar mixture by April 1 to help attract them.  The Jackson Sun

  • The vote for Jackson area's boys high school athlete of the week is open until Thursday at 4 p.m. Candidates include Miles Brown (Westview), Drew English (USJ), Xander Johnsey (McKenzie), Nash Kilburn (Crockett County) and Darion Taylor (Humboldt).  The Jackson Sun
  • Freshman Nate Ament scored 16 points to help Tennessee beat Virginia 79-72, with 13 points coming in the second half — a boost that sets the team up for its Sweet 16 match against Iowa State at the United Center on March 27.  The Jackson Sun
