- ➤ Pat Alford, a retired cultural arts director, was honored on Wednesday afternoon at The Ned with an unveiled portrait (created using community photographs) that celebrates her contributions to local theatre arts. WBBJ-TV
- ➤ Ballet Arts will present 'The Little Mermaid' at the Carl Perkins Civic Center from April 24 to April 26. An exclusive tea party (for young fans) is scheduled before the Saturday and Sunday shows. WNBJ 39

- ➤ Tennessee gas prices have jumped by about $1.10 per gallon after a conflict with Iran (which closed a key oil route), though regular gas in Jackson, once $4.69 in 2022, now averages $3.65 as of March 24. State lawmakers urge Governor Lee to consider a gas tax holiday for relief. The Jackson Sun

- ➤ Jackson State Community College broke ground yesterday on a new athletic complex that will add restrooms, concessions, a baseball field and a flag football home, with officials including President Dr. Carol Rothstein and Athletic Director Dr. Kevin Lynum hosting the ceremony with fans, coaches and community leaders. - ➤ Birth Choice Jackson hosted a ceremony Wednesday to bless a new $52,000 ultrasound machine bought with funds raised in under a year. The machine uses AI for more accurate scans and now shows babies at 5 weeks 2 days instead of around 5 to 6 weeks. WBBJ-TV
