- ➤ The Salvation Army of Jackson responded to an EF-3 tornado that hit Selmer on April 3, leaving three people dead and damaging over 300 structures by serving hot meals, water, and care at the Selmer Civic Center. Volunteers face flooded, impassable roads—rescue teams continue to work to help affected residents recover. WYN 106.9
- ➤ West Tennessee Legal Services—along with the Tennessee Governor’s Faith-Based and Community Initiative and the Tennessee Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission—will hold a free expungement clinic on April 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 125 Allen Avenue in Jackson to help qualifying individuals erase certain criminal records. - ➤ Joseph Cantrell, a 54-year-old man with diabetes, has been missing since June 25 from Beech Bluff after he was last seen at his girlfriend’s residence on Willoughby Road—family says he had no medication—and law enforcement searched nearby areas with dogs and drones. WBBJ-TV

- ➤ Jackson’s Amphitheater at the Market will host the 2025 AMP concert series beginning Friday, April 25 with eleven free performances starting at 7:30 p.m. The open-air venue behind West Tennessee Farmers’ Market invites local families to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets—ensuring a family friendly musical celebration. - ➤ The U.S. Postal Service began changes on April 1 that may affect mail delivery in Tennessee—some areas might see a 2-3 day turnaround and others may experience a one-day delay in service.
