  • Mrs. United States 2024, Sharelle Mendenhall, visited The Formed Church Sunday to deliver a message (Rewiring Your Brain) that urges members to renew their minds to follow God's will. She left her business seven months ago to focus on ministry as a TV host and speaker.  WBBJ-TV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Sam's Club is set to raise its membership prices on May 1. Club membership will cost $60 a year and Plus membership $120 while a discounted $30 deal is available until April 23.  The Jackson Sun

CULTURE NEWS

  • St. Nicholas Orthodox Christian Church in Jackson celebrated Holy Week with an Easter service beginning at 10:30 p.m. Saturday (with repeating Paschal Hymns) and followed by Sunday’s Vespers service and Agape Picnic.  WBBJ-TV
  • Saturday's concert featuring Terell Stafford—an acclaimed Grammy Award winner—took place at the Ned R. McWherter Cultural Arts Center in Jackson during Jazz Appreciation Month, and the Jazz Foundation plans at least four concerts this year to boost local jazz and blues.  WBBJ-TV
  • Concordia Lutheran Church hosted a free concert Sunday at noon featuring trumpeter Joey Moore and pianist Mitzi Mathenia performing popular favorites. Donations raised will support scholarships for Concordia Conservatory (the church’s music program) as Pastor Eric Rudsenske noted.  WBBJ-TV

  • Graduating seniors in Jackson can try a simple hack by sending graduation announcements to brands like Chick-fil-A, Raising Cane’s + Tiffany & Co. to receive free swag, as shown in popular TikTok posts.  WYN 106.9

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, the IRS announced that taxpayers in 23 Tennessee counties hit by a winter storm will have until May 22 to file individual and business taxes, while others must meet the standard April 15 deadline.  The Jackson Sun
