At Leeper Lane Park in Jackson—dog owners raced in AKC All-Breed CAT and Fast CAT events that started at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

The Jackson TN Dog Fanciers Association said it will host its next races the first weekend of September.

Jackson is holding its first-ever talent show, Jackson’s Got Talent, where 20 local performers will try to win cash prizes up to $2,000 — the event is hosted by LOLO Pritchard, Mary Billingsley and the Exchange Club with the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse and judged by Stan Perkins, Julie Cooke and Marlon King.

Several restaurants will offer meal deals on Tax Day and following days to help taxpayers save money —starting tomorrow— as Krispy Kreme charges only sales tax for a second dozen doughnuts when a dozen is bought and Smoothie King gives discounts for qualifying purchases.

Additional offers include a $3 option at Checkers and Rally's, a buy-one-get-one deal on baked spaghetti at Fazoli's, double Rewards points at Freddy's, a cookie cake buy-one-get-one offer at Great American Cookies, select $4.15 appetizers at Hooters, and a $14.99 meal with unlimited breadsticks at Olive Garden valid until May 4.
