- ➤ The Jackson Tn Hemp Festival returns for its 4th year at The Amp in Jackson on Saturday April 19th (11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.), offering live music by local bands. The event features an interactive area with MADwomen (a local organization) that lets attendees send messages to legislators about fair legalization and will also include food trucks, local vendors, hemp lobby groups and voter registration. - ➤ Downtown Jackson will host Crawfest 2025 on April 19 at 3 p.m. at Hub City Brewing on West Main Street—this family-friendly event will serve crawfish, shrimp and all the fixings while featuring a dedicated children's area. WNBJ 39

- ➤ At its monthly work session on Monday, the Jackson-Madison County School Board reviewed updates on academics and truancy before planning to vote on a pending charter school application (decision expected later this week). The Jackson Post
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ TDOT has announced road work in West Tennessee from April 16th to April 23rd aimed at repairing roads and installing new features with planned lane closures across multiple counties. Construction crews will end lane closures at 6:00 p.m. today until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, April 21st—and motorists are advised to check for detours and reduced speed limits amid changing flood conditions. - ➤ Today, the City of Jackson is asking residents to share traffic safety concerns through an online survey and a meeting at the Jackson-Madison County Library—issues like speeding and poor road design were raised by many. The study, funded by a $250,000 federal grant, will be ready by the end of 2025—plans for improvements will come about a year later. The Jackson Sun
