  • Redeemed Christian Center celebrated its 10th anniversary Sunday with two services at its Campbell Street location near North Parkway, where founding pastor Mark Mackey reflected on the church's humble beginnings (at the All-Suites Hotel) and membership growth.  WBBJ-TV
  • Fire stations across Madison County will honor fallen firefighters by displaying red lights for the upcoming National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend — May 2 and 3, a nationwide campaign led by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.  WBBJ-TV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • ALDI is testing a new store format using a modular design (developed with Landini Associates) that adapts to different store sizes and local needs. Trials began last year in Aventura, Florida and further tests are planned this year that may reach Tennessee stores.  The Jackson Sun

  • Hatchie Birdfest held Sunday at Willow Oaks Flower Farm in Brownsville offered sessions on native birds and the mental health benefits of spending time outdoors (including reduced work stress) for local enthusiasts. Retired psychologist Bob Raines explained how nature can boost overall positivity.  WBBJ-TV

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Tennessee high school baseball playoffs begin with several districts scheduling games from today through early May. Districts 14-AA, 13-AA and 12-AA plan matchups at Hardin County, McNairy Central, Elam Stadium, Scotts Hill and Huntingdon.  The Jackson Sun
  • Voting is open until Thursday at 4 p.m. for the high school boys athlete of the week for April 20-25.
