- ➤ New sculpture installations are available for public use at Anderson Park in Jackson (near the West Tennessee Farmers Market). The Looking Up Arts Foundation finished final touches on the pieces, which debuted last November and are now arranged as tables and chairs. WNBJ 39

- ➤ On April 28, the board approved four new charter schools for the LIFT Network in Jackson—sponsored by Union University, All Things Family Inc and Gestalt Community Schools—that may open next school year. The Jackson Sun
- ➤ Jackson-Madison County Schools approved a proposed $155 million budget for next year that will fund renovations at several schools and raise teacher salaries from $51,000 to $54,000 while adding four charter school applications; the proposal now awaits final approval from the Madison County Commission.
