🏘️ Community
Elk Lodge #192 hosted a cornhole tournament today at 28 Executive Drive in Jackson to raise funds for the Scarlet Rope Project (a group that helps victims of sex trafficking).
The event began at 4 p.m. and charged entry fees of $10 for individuals and $20 for teams, and the lodge will hold a Dueling Pianos night on May 17.
🚧 Accidents
A logging tractor trailer overturned near Parkway and Whitehall Streets in Jackson just before 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon—logs spread across all lanes and officers from Jackson Police and THP responded, with no injuries reported.
🎓 Education
Officers from the TWRA visited South Side High School to provide a boaters education class—held from 9 a.m. to noon—for participants aged 12 and older.
The course taught watercraft safety and administered the official exam required for those born after January 1, 1989—an essential step to meet state law.
