First responders rushed to a mass casualty wreck involving a Greyhound bus on Highway 70 East near the Madison County Solid Waste Convenience Center just before 7 p.m. Monday—39 patients were involved with about 29 transported by ambulance as officials asked residents to avoid the area.
Jackson Police Chief Thom Corley addressed weekend gun violence when a Saturday 8:41 p.m. shooting at Kate Campbell Park left seven victims—six discharged and one hospitalized in stable condition—and an early Sunday shooting on Old Hickory Blvd resulted in one death and another man seriously injured as police use camera footage and witness statements to investigate.
