COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Residents enjoy the monthly Three Way market where local vendors sell honey, candles, flowers, baked goods, and more. Calvin Ward of Hilltop Farm Bakery and Goods said the market has been held three times so far — and it will continue on a monthly basis.  WBBJ TV
  • Men of Hope celebrated three years of recovery services today at the Hope Recovery Center—1925 Highway 18 in Medon—where uplifting music, testimonials and special performances marked the milestone for its faith-based, 12-step program to help men overcome substance abuse. Executive Director Marcie Hendrick said the program is divided into four yearly levels to support long-term recovery.  WYN 106.9

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A Jackson City Council member said he will not vote for Mayor Conger’s new budget plan that would cut funds from police and fire departments—he argued that using first responders as leverage to raise taxes is not acceptable and that the City Council should manage the funds per the city charter.  WYN 106.9
  • Tennessee Gov Bill Lee signed “Savanna’s Law” on May 21 — a measure honoring slain deputy Savanna Puckett that creates a TBI registry for individuals with repeat domestic violence convictions effective for offenses on or after Jan 1. Courts will send certified conviction copies within seven days, and new TBI positions and fees will support the registry starting with early 2026 convictions.  The Jackson Sun

HEALTH NEWS

  • LIFELINE Blood Services announced a series of blood drives scheduled for June, with events starting today at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington and the Crocket County Courthouse. In Jackson, a drive at TCAT will run on June 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  WBBJ-TV
