  • Larry Newsom joined our show to share details on the West TN Veteran Coalition Boston Butt Spring Sale—featuring Cajun Cookers and local veteran involvement.  WBBJ TV
  • The Jackson-Madison Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will honor nearly 50 women veterans at a free event on June 8 at VFW Post 6496 (285 Airways Blvd.) at 2:00 p.m. where keynote speaker Renee Myers and co-sponsors from James Madison Chapter Sons of the American Revolution will mark the occasion with certificates, door prizes, cake, cookies and light refreshments.  WBBJ-TV

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Thursday morning, the Jackson Fire Department quickly responded to a garage/shed fire and extinguished it—with Engine 42 arriving 4 minutes after dispatch and other units within 7 minutes—preventing significant property damage and injuries.  WYN 106.9

CRIME NEWS

  • On Wednesday, June 4, Jackson police used the Flock Camera System to track a missing car and arrest 23-year-old Kerrien Dates—alleged for first degree murder and theft in Memphis.  WYN 106.9

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Beach Boys with special guest LOCASH will perform at Rockabillys Stadium in Jackson on September 25 to mark over 50 years of music. Tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. with prices starting at $39.99.  WNBJ 39

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State Rep. Chris Todd secured $10M in state funding to upgrade Jackson Regional Airport, where the money will build two corporate hangars and a new general aviation T-hangar to support air service improvements — the project will boost airport operations and benefit local growth.  WBBJ-TV

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • The Lost Reserve in Jackson will host Camp TLR on June 21—a free all-day vintage market featuring styles from the 1950s to Y2K, food trucks, live music, cold beer, and tattoos at 927 North Highland Avenue. The event will also debut the Summer 2025 vintage tee collection with over 500 styles available to eager shoppers.  WNBJ 39

SPORTS NEWS

  • Today in Jackson, the first annual Tennessee State Games began with 1,500 athletes competing in 15 events — including a pickleball tournament featuring 200 players from Mississippi and Kentucky whose ages range from 17 to 90. The pickleball championship match will be played on Sunday.  WNBJ 39
