- ➤ At the West Tennessee Farmers Market on Friday, 12 Jackson organizations built and painted playhouses for local children. Habitat for Humanity coordinated the project with teams from Coca-Cola and Delta Electric — supporting community teamwork and offering kids a fun play space. WNBJ 39
- ➤ The annual Highway 70 Yard Sale will take place from Thursday, June 12—Saturday, June 14 along Highway 70 from Memphis to Nashville. Deal-hunters across West Tennessee will visit multiple sites for items like home décor, furniture, clothing and toys at a sale popular for over 20 years. WYN 106.9
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On May 30, Jackson Police arrested thirteen people in a theft ring targeting local department stores—two vehicles, drugs, and merchandise over $1000 were also recovered. WYN 106.9
- ➤ On Wednesday, Jackson Police used the Flock Camera System to locate a stolen Camaro tied to a Memphis homicide, capturing 23-year-old Kerrien Dates without incident and charging him with First Degree Murder + Theft of Property. WNBJ 39
- ➤ Local and state officials warned that Tennesseans are being targeted by scam texts claiming unpaid traffic fines and threatening to suspend driving privileges—messages that include fake website links and misnamed agencies, so experts advise not to reply or click on any links. The Jackson Sun

- ➤ Jackson-Madison County Library North Branch will host Music with Alice, a free edu-tainment event for all ages on June 28 from 11 a.m. until noon at 8 Stonebridge Boulevard in Jackson. Library officials ask that groups of eight or more children call (731-425-8600) to arrange seating. WNBJ 39

- ➤ Just before 2 p.m. Friday, eight utility poles fell along McClellan Road, causing about 1,000 customers to lose power — roughly 600 still remain without power as JEA works to replace the poles and Jackson Engineering has closed all lanes from Windy City to Wyndchase Drive until repairs are complete.
