The Community Foundation of West Tennessee has opened nominations for the Jackson Awards—recognizing locals in arts, education, health care, leadership, volunteer service and youth—for the 2025 cycle.
Votes will be accepted until July 25 and the Charity Gala is scheduled for November 8.
Rhythm on the Rails is a free music festival set for June 27 at Discovery Park from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will celebrate many music styles (drawing local families outdoors for a lively evening).
Leaders Education Foundation will hold its first fundraiser on August 14 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson to honor five local educators and raise funds for scholarships and classroom grants—its first such event.
Keynote speaker Dr. John Deloney will address the crowd—tickets, table sales and sponsorships are available.
Arrow Athletics is hosting a dinosaur-themed gymnastics camp for preschoolers at 2125 Express Drive in Jackson Tuesday to Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m.—the camp fee is $75 and offers active play in a dino world.
