The Civil War Navy Kids Camp will happen at Shiloh National Military Park from June 30 through July 3 for children ages 8—12.
The camp offers hands-on naval history lessons, including artillery simulations—families must call the park visitor center to register.
🎭 Culture
The Jax-Mac Festival took place Saturday at the Amp in Jackson from 2 to 8 p.m. and featured local artists, food trucks, vendors and games for family-friendly fun.
Don’t Waste My Time Music Inc.+ a nonprofit record label that supports local musicians+ organized the event to lower studio costs and spur collaboration.
On Sunday at 3 p.m., the opening ceremony for Miss Volunteer America Pageant took place in Jackson, Tennessee, where 51 state titleholders were introduced (each carrying their state flag and state princess).
Preliminaries begin on June 18 and the finals start on June 21.
🏈 Sports
Sunday saw a two-day disc golf tournament at Bend on Highland at 40 Match Point Drive that began on Saturday and ended Sunday morning as part of the State Games of Tennessee.
More than 20 players competed over two rounds and winners in each division received gold, silver, or bronze medals.
