Jackson Elks Lodge volunteers cooked smoked chicken today at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt—an event that honors local veterans—and the meal continues their long tradition of caring service.

Fifty-one contestants competed in night two of the Miss Volunteer America Pageant in Jackson today — preliminary rounds continue with the winner to be crowned on Saturday, June 21.

The Tennessee Manufacturers Association — with the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry and UTCIS — announced that the 2025 Coolest Thing Made in Tennessee contest is live with nominations open until June 30.

Local companies can show off their products and compete in public voting rounds in July, August, and September, with the winner announced on October 1 at a luncheon in Lebanon.

The Carnegie Center will host the Oldtime Stringband Scramble on June 26 at 6 p.m. at 305 East College Street – local musicians of all skill levels can sign up on-site and be randomly grouped to perform while the Tennessee Music Boxes exhibition runs concurrently.
