- ➤ Dyer Station kicked off its 41st annual celebration today at the Dyer Community Center with a Grand Marshal reception, a taste of Dyer, and a community church service. Saturday’s street dance featured food trucks — and upcoming events include trivia tomorrow, singo Tuesday night, a youth rally Wednesday night, bingo on Thursday, plus a Fourth of July parade on East College Street with fireworks at 9 p.m. WYN 106.9
- ➤ Today, the Salvation Army of Jackson held a welcome service at the divisional headquarters to install new pastors with Majors Brooks and Lori Guillium as the new divisional secretaries. Captain William Richard said the leadership change will help serve the community—summer day camp for kids ages 6 to 12 is also underway. WYN 106.9
- ➤ After Saturday’s mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, parishioners bid farewell to Father David Graham and Father Johnathan Perez as they headed to new parishes—Father Graham to St. Louis Catholic Church and Father Perez to St. Michael Catholic Church.
