- ➤ Aldersgate Methodist Church in Jackson is hosting a donation drive for fans and window A/C units to help residents stay cool during the summer heat—donations will be accepted at 1050 North Parkway on Saturday, July 12, from 9-11 a.m. WBBJ TV
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Jackson Rockabillys will host a celebration on July 31 at Rockabillys Stadium as they honor the 731 area code with Throwback Thursday activities — fans can enjoy a first pitch at 7 p.m. and music by DJ Von. WNBJ 39
- ➤ The Jackson Arts Council has released a schedule of art and culture events in July that includes music concerts, gallery exhibits, and improv shows at local venues. The events run from July 9—31 and also feature recurring classes in dance and photography at community centers. WBBJ-TV
- ➤ The Made in Jackson 2025 Celebration is set for July 31 at Hub City Brewing, 250 West Main Street (6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and will include live music, storytelling and local flavor (featuring Adam Johnson and Carita Cole), and admission is free though RSVPs are encouraged. WNBJ 39

- ➤ Jackson Mayor Conger said Rural King did not move into the old Macy’s building at Old Hickory Mall because the project would have required rezoning—spot zoning is discouraged under city policy—and the company and mall owner chose not to submit the application. WNBJ 39
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The West Tennessee Healthcare Hope and Healing Foundation reported its mid-year impact by spending over $114,000 on patient needs and $70,000 to support Kirkland Cancer Center patients, helping more than 1,000 people with transportation, nutrition, and other essentials. The foundation also aided its homeless outreach by distributing 250 hygiene bags and 110 food bags (while providing transportation to 240 patients). WYN 106.9
- ➤ Drivers in Tennessee can now pre-purchase the Donate Life Tennessee specialty license plate to support organ, eye, and tissue donation—each plate funds lifesaving outreach and education statewide. Production will begin when at least 1000 plates are sold. WYN 106.9
