  • Local plant enthusiasts traded cuttings, seeds and other garden items at the Plant Swap held Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 82 Clayton Street, and food, vendors and music added to the event—organizers aimed to boost exposure for local businesses.  WBBJ-TV

CRIME NEWS

  • On Friday, July 11th at 10:20 p.m., police responded to a shooting on the 1300 block of Campbell Street in East Jackson that left one unidentified Black male dead & investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.  WBBJ-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Yesterday, the Theta Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi hosted a free health fair at 10 a.m. at the TR White Sportsplex in Jackson. The event offered health resources (from West TN Rehab, Pathways, and Transitional Care) and food trucks, and a community cookout with back-to-school supplies for grades K-8 is planned for July 26.  WYN 106.9
