- ➤ Residents gathered at the Madison County Courthouse in Jackson on Monday for the kickoff Pray for Tennessee event. County Mayor A.J. Massey and Representative Chris Todd prayed for guidance for political leaders and the state's well-being—additional prayer gatherings are scheduled. WNBJ 39
- ➤ The Community Foundation of West Tennessee will host its 40th anniversary Charity Gala on Saturday, November 8 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in downtown Jackson—featuring a cocktail reception, silent auction, seated dinner, award presentations and live music—while proceeds support local community programs. - ➤ On July 26 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson, the 2026 Miss Tennessee Volunteer Pageant showcased local volunteers competing in talent, evening gown, and fitness rounds—Miss Tristar Volunteer Meghan Poore won the crown. The Jackson Sun
- ➤ Medina native Meghan Poore was crowned as Miss Tennessee Volunteer 2025 over the weekend in Jackson + she previously held the Miss TriStar Volunteer title. WNBJ 39
- ➤ Jackson unveiled its third historical sculpture at Sherlene Mercer Park as part of the 5-year Trail of Truth project honoring African American contributions, and Lee Benson (owner of Benson Sculptures) said his work titled 'Come, Let Us Reason Together' will be finished by tomorrow. WNBJ 39

- ➤ AAA reports that gas prices in Jackson remain steady at $2.78 a gallon as drivers in Henderson pay $2.71 and those in Crockett pay $2.92—with the statewide average of $2.77 tied for the fifth cheapest nationally. WNBJ 39

- ➤ The Tennessee Highway Patrol released a list of sobriety checkpoints planned for August to help keep roads safe and discourage drinking and driving. The list includes several dates and locations in Jackson District 8 and Memphis District 4 — each checkpoint is set to operate to deter impaired driving across the state. WBBJ-TV
