- ➤ On July 31, President Kimbery Jones, Immediate Past President Mechelle Moragne, former International Trends and Services Facet Chair LaTarsha Hanna Huff and Co-Chair Cheryl Turner of the Jackson Chapter of the Links presented donations from the International Fashion Show proceeds to community organizations—giving two $1000 scholarships to Lane College international students and $1000 each to the JMC Branch of NAACP, SAACA, United Way of Jackson and Gambia. - ➤ Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a Jackson man on Friday and charged him with Accessory After the Fact to 1st Degree Murder in connection with the ongoing search for Austin Drummond—he was booked into Lake County Jail without bond. WBBJ-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, I-Care hosted a Back to School Summit at Destiny Church in Jackson starting at 10 a.m., where Councilman Johnny Dodd spoke and JPD warned about fentanyl dangers. Other speakers including Dr. Shemon Reeves discussed mental health and academic success — they also offered door prizes and school uniform vouchers to local families. WBBJ-TV
