- ➤ Ashonti Shardai Kidd, 31, was booked into Madison County Jail just after 7 p.m. on Friday, August 1 for aggravated animal cruelty after a Jackson Animal Control Officer found a starving dog in a hot garage on July 23 — she remains in custody pending further court proceedings. WYN 106.9
- ➤ Authorities confirmed two missing children were found safe Sunday evening—after a search in Madison County near Missionary Outreach Christian Church, where a large police presence and a helicopter were seen on Riverside Drive. WBBJ-TV
- ➤ Two men, Tanaka Brown and Giovonte Thomas, were arrested on accessory charges after investigators said they assisted murder suspect Austin Drummond in connection with a July 29 quadruple homicide—Brown also faces a tampering with evidence charge while Thomas will be transferred to Lake County Jail for arraignment.
