  • Michelle and Kevin Cozine of the Jackson chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace joined a local show to explain how they help provide beds to children in need—supporting local families and highlighting the community program.  WYN 106.9

CRIME NEWS

  • Crime Stoppers is asking for help locating Nicolas Robinson— a West Tennessee man wanted for a robbery on August 1 whose record includes charges from 2015 for arson, trespass, and vandalism.  WNBJ 39

CULTURE NEWS

  • theCO will host Taste & Tell on September 18 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Stella in downtown Jackson—this event marks the finale of the ScaleUp Kitchen program and offers food samples from local businesses with tickets costing $8 in advance and $10 at the door.  WBBJ-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Thursday evening, TCAT Jackson held a graduation ceremony at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in downtown Jackson where 220 students received diplomas and certificates. Many graduates will soon begin work in trades such as plumbing, electrical work, mechanics and roles in nursing, surgical tech and CDL training — options that offer affordable alternatives to traditional colleges.  WYN 106.9

FINANCE NEWS

  • Insurance comparison company Insurify projects that car insurance premiums in Tennessee will rise from $1,635 in June to about $1,746 by the end of 2025 — a 5% increase driven by tariffs and inflation pressures. This steady climb follows a 2% drop in rates during the first half of the year.  The Jackson Sun
