- ➤ The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about scam calls where fraudsters use real names and numbers—such as Sergeant Jason Lewis—to claim you owe fines and ask for payment by cash withdrawals, money orders, or gift cards, and they urge anyone who receives such a call to report it immediately by calling 731-423-6000. - ➤ On August 22, Jackson police responded to a ShotSpotter alert at the 600 block of Roosevelt Parkway—finding a man with a gunshot wound who was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died as investigators work to determine if the shooting was targeted. WYN 106.9
