The West Tennessee Comic Con is underway this weekend at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, featuring panels, gaming tournaments and a cosplay contest for families (the event began three years ago to bring pop culture to Jackson).

South Side High seniors and underclassmen painted their parking spots Saturday to celebrate a long-standing tradition.
The colorful event, which involved help from family and friends, allowed each student to express their creativity (a nod to their achievements).

Bethel University's Dalton Berry will represent the United States at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Porpetto, Italy as he heads overseas for the event.
North Side defeated Jackson Central-Merry 12-6 during a defensive slugfest on Friday night.
The Indians were led by standout runs from Kaden Curry and Braydon Weldon, and coach Woodrow Lowe said the team will build on the win as they work on improving execution.
