- ➤ Scarlet Rope’s annual Wingfest will take place on Saturday, October 25 at Hub City Brewing, 250 West Main Street from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., featuring a wing-cooking contest where local teams compete for bragging rights. The fundraiser, presented by Christian Brothers Automotive, will offer live entertainment and silent auctions to support survivors of sexual exploitation — uniting the community for a good cause. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ U.S. Marshals and Jackson Police arrested 22-year-old Demetrius Moore on August 27 — he was charged with first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder for his role in a May 14 fatal shooting — after he jumped from a second-story window at the Royal Arms Apartment Complex and was taken to Madison County Jail. - ➤ A 19-year-old suspect named Micheal Hunt has been charged with second-degree murder for fatally shooting 22-year-old Sherman Mays on Roosevelt Parkway on August 22 and is set to appear in Jackson City Court for arraignment today. WNBJ 39
