Today for Labor Day, most grocery stores in Tennessee, including Walmart, Kroger, Target, Publix, and Trader Joe's, will operate regular hours while Costco remains closed; Aldi has limited hours and Sam’s Club opens from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. + 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Club members.

The African Street Festival ended Sunday in east Jackson with a mix of faith and fashion as a 'Church on the Street' service and runway show celebrated one hundred years of Black heritage with live music, art, and community tributes.
🏈 Sports
Union men’s and women’s cross country teams opened their season in Memphis at the City Auto Memphis Twilight events, competing in a busy week that set the stage for future meets.
Voting is open for the Jackson area boys high school athlete of the week until 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept.
10, featuring JC Gray (Adamsville), Kingston Robinson (Jackson Christian), Ross Wilson (Lexington), Chace Jenkins (Obion County) and Ben Spencer (USJ) with standout performances in recent wins.
Tennessee Sports Writers Association released its high school football rankings for Week 4 today and noted that two new teams moved into the top spot in the six Division I and three Division II classes (voted by local sports writers).
Voting is open until Thursday at 4 p.m. for the Jackson area's high school girls Athlete of the Week contest covering Aug.
31-Sept. 5. Nominees include standout players from Dyer, Hardin, McKenzie, South Gibson & West Caroll.
