  • During harvest season, farm equipment such as tractors, cotton pickers and combines share our roads as Ag and Natural Resources agent Daniel Wiggins in Crockett advises drivers to slow down and leave extra space on two-lane roads. He added that farmers usually pull over when traffic grows heavy and drivers must watch for flashing lights at night—measures meant to keep everyone safe.  WBBJ-TV

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Job seekers visited the Carl Perkins Civic Center Tuesday for the 2025 Fall Career Expo and submitted resumes to over 30 employers—including the Jackson Police Department, West Tennessee Healthcare, and the Department of Child Services.  WNBJ 39

EDUCATION NEWS

  • United Way of West Tennessee announced the West Tennessee Story Fund— a monthly giving program that supports local literacy programs in 15 counties. Monthly donations at levels of $5, $10, $20, $50, or $100 will help deliver books and reading tools to children and families.  WYN 106.9

SPORTS NEWS

  • Local high schools, including Milan High School, are using a Rapsodo system to capture slow-motion video—coaches said it improves pitching release and hitting angles while tracking progress from middle school upward.  WBBJ-TV
