- ➤ The City of Jackson will host a 40th anniversary celebration of Cypress Grove Nature Park on Saturday, October 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.—featuring an opening ceremony, awards presentations, live music, and guided tours by park naturalists—marking four decades of its role in the community. - ➤ Voting is underway for Jackson's Love Your Block community project grants, offering up to $5,000 for initiatives like community gardens + public art installations. Residents can cast one vote per day in each tier until noon on October 6. WNBJ 39

- ➤ The Jackson-Madison County Library will host a Pokémon Trading Club on Saturday, October 25 (11 a.m. until noon) at 433 East Lafayette Street where young fans will trade cards, meet friends and explore themed books. WNBJ 39
- ➤ Nate Snider, a nonverbal former Transition Program student, began working at Westview Cafeteria and quickly took on more tasks—cleaning dishes and areas around his workstation—to show his new skills. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Jackson rolled out a new 3-1-1 app that lets residents report issues from their phones or through the website. Officials transferred all open requests from the old system and will announce the official app release date soon. WNBJ 39
- ➤ District Attorney General Frederick H. Agee retired from the Army today after 21 years of service and is the only elected District Attorney in Tennessee to actively serve in the military. He retired at the rank of Major—earning several military honors during his career. WBBJ TV

- ➤ Jackson area high school football players are in a midseason vote to be named the top defensive player in the TSSAA season—voters have until noon on Oct. 3 to choose their standout from nominees like junior linebacker Story and senior defensive back Despain. The Jackson Sun
- ➤ Jackson area voters are asked to select the top offensive high school football player in the TSSAA midseason poll, which will close at noon on Oct. 3.
