- ➤ Tennessee Homeless Solutions is hosting a Veteran Resource Fair on October 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson—veterans can get help with housing, food, and employment by preregistering at 731-423-0616. WNBJ 39
- ➤ The Tennessee River Barbecue Fest returns as the Hub City BBQ Fest to downtown Jackson along Lafayette Street on October 3—teams from across the country will compete for a $14,000 grand prize and the People’s Choice award. WNBJ 39
- ➤ Jackson Madison County Schools held the Blessing of the Field ceremony on Wednesday at the new Hub City Central Football Stadium, where pastors and community leaders prayed for the safety of students and visitors—ending with a balloon release. - ➤ The United Soccer League announced yesterday that Jackson Boom will join USL League Two in 2026—boosting a club founded in 2022 that has grown into a multi-division academy offering elite and pre-professional training for boys and girls.
