COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Saturday, more than 200 bikers rode through Jackson in the Red Dog Bar and Grill 43rd annual St. Jude Toy Run to collect donations and toys for St. Jude Children’s Hospital—local sponsors donated over 150 items. The event also featured live music, a silent auction, and food to support the cause.  WBBJ-TV

SPORTS NEWS

  • The University School of Jackson Bruins lost a 27-26 thriller at Dyer County on Friday night—both teams traded scores until a 2-point attempt fell short.  The Jackson Post
  • TWRA announced that the first young sportsman deer hunt will take place Oct. 25-26 and allows children ages 6-16 to hunt with guns, muzzleloaders, or archery equipment when accompanied by a non-hunting adult — 21 or older who must be ready to take control immediately. Youth aged 10 and older must meet hunter education or licensing requirements as archery season ends Oct. 24 with other hunting segments scheduled to follow.  WYN 106.9
