- ➤ Earlier Tuesday, Habitat for Humanity in Jackson broke ground on its 110th house and plans to finish the project by year end. CEO Adam Johnson said the new home helps local residents fight rising housing costs—making it a key step in providing affordable shelter. WBBJ TV
- ➤ Direct Shred is partnering with the City of Jackson to offer free document shredding at 164 Conalco Drive on October 25 from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. + Community members can bring unwanted documents for secure disposal at no charge. WBBJ TV

- ➤ Union University held its Community Day on Tuesday when student athletes from softball, volleyball, and soccer teams built and delivered beds for families in the 38301 area—Kevin Cozine, Chapter President of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, said the work helped meet the nonprofit's growing need for delivery support. - ➤ Area Relief Ministries broke ground today on Turning Point 2, a new transitional home for chronically homeless men at 424 Lexington Street. - ➤ Teachers in Jackson were honored as the Leaders Education Foundation awarded over $35,000 in grants through the L.E.A.D.S. Grants Program—funding classroom projects, teacher appreciation, and professional development. - ➤ Eighth grader Ben Little preserved Jackson Christian School's 50-year legacy by researching archives and interviewing early founders after the school celebrated its anniversary.
