- ➤ Jackson's University of Tennessee Gardens will host its annual Amaryllis Sale at the West Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center on November 11 from noon to 4 p.m.—attendees can buy over 500 amaryllis bulbs from 26 varieties and other fall plants with bulbs priced at $22 each and care instructions provided. - ➤ Allen Samuels Hyundai in west Jackson hosted a trunk or treat where employees in costumes handed out candy and kids enjoyed games and activities on several stops—creating a fun and safe Halloween event open to the public. WYN 106.9
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Jackson Symphony Music Academy will host a family concert on November 2 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Carl Perkins Civic Center (400 South Highland Avenue) that features a performance of Peter and the Wolf led by Music Director Paul Haas and the JSMA Youth Orchestra. The event will also showcase a fall concert with student musicians from across West Tennessee. WNBJ 39

- ➤ City officials said that No Trash November will include cleanup efforts in many Jackson neighborhoods to clean the city and build stronger community relationships. The project will run all month (Neighborhood Service Director Elivia Trejo said it gives residents a chance to meet neighbors they have not yet met). WNBJ 39
- ➤ The Tennessee Department of Transportation announced lane closures running from October 29 through November 5 in Region 4—these closures may affect travel during both daytime and nighttime hours. WNBJ 39

- ➤ Donors in Jackson gave blood on Thursday at Lifeline Blood Services’ Vein Drain event with a spooky theme called 'Who You Gonna Save.' Participants received a t-shirt (a Chick-fil-A coupon and a chance to win a trip via Denver Airlines through Jackson Regional Airport). WNBJ 39
- ➤ West Tennessee Medical Group has introduced the nation's first combined Pulmonology Asthma and Obesity Management Clinic — it is led by Dr. Ankit Kushwaha and will serve patients with integrated care for breathing and weight issues. WBBJ-TV
- ➤ As open enrollment begins November 1, expiring healthcare tax credits may raise premiums for 22 million people — experts warn that Tennessee could see a 320% increase in rates with 210,000 individuals losing coverage. WYN 106.9
