  • Jackson Police officers Roshin Ali and Tyler Schrupp got engaged and will marry next year as they build their future together in Jackson after connecting early on.  The Jackson Post
  • Last weekend, shoppers visited the Hub City Flea Market at Jackson Fairgrounds in search of holiday bargains, with vendors selling items like jewelry, clothes, and snacks during market hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.—the monthly event attracts customers from across West TN and will return on December 5, 6, and 7.  WBBJ-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • First Presbyterian Church of Jackson held its annual Kirkin’ of the Tartans service on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. (1573 North Highland Ave) to honor its Scottish roots with readings, a tartan blessing and music by the Memphis Pipe Band and Sanctuary Choir; a ticketed brunch followed the service.  WBBJ TV

SPORTS NEWS

  • After a 33-27 loss to Oklahoma in Week 10, Tennessee football dropped eight spots in the coaches poll — now ranked No. 22. The team will host New Mexico State on Nov. 15 at 4:15 p.m. at Neyland Stadium following an off week.  The Jackson Sun
