- ➤ Ronald McDonald House Jackson is hosting its Heart of the House donation match week from November 3 through today to help families whose children are cared for at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital—every donation is matched dollar-for-dollar with rewards for larger gifts. - ➤ New data shows that distracted and drowsy driving is common nationwide—over half of drivers admit to checking their phones at red lights and four in ten say distraction has led to an accident. - ➤ Hub City Theatre hosted a season announcement party at Turntable Coffee Counter in downtown Jackson last Thursday—offering a preview of four scripted and four improv shows planned for 2026 and highlights from the 2025 season—and auditions for the first show will begin in December. WBBJ-TV
- ➤ The Jackson Theatre Guild will present 'A Christmas Carol: Scrooge' from December 5–13 at The Ned McWherter West Tennessee Cultural Arts Center in downtown Jackson and will host a preview party on December 4 at 6:30 p.m.—tickets are not yet on sale. WNBJ 39
- ➤ The Jackson Arts Council will host the Holiday Arts Social on December 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Carnegie Center for Arts and History — guests can enjoy hors d’oeuvres, meet local artists and shop for unique artwork — with artists asked to donate a small piece by November 25 to support local arts programs. - ➤ The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will set up testing stations for chronic wasting disease on November 8 when the muzzleloader season starts. Hunters must bring in white-tailed deer from designated processors — a plan to check for the deadly disease — to help monitor deer health. WYN 106.9

- ➤ The Lung Cancer Foundation of America is urging veterans to get low-dose CT scans during Lung Cancer Awareness Month because many are at risk from exposure to asbestos and burn pits.
