- ➤ In Jackson, Interstate 40 bridges see flags waving as residents honor veterans in an annual celebration. The event began when a Tennessee Guardsman returned from Iraq and is organized by the West Tennessee Veterans Coalition—Veterans Day Program Committee, City of Jackson and Madison County. WYN 106.9
- ➤ Old Country Store in Jackson held a veterans' celebration today that offered free lunch or dinner to local veterans. They shared their stories and honored their service— the buffet stays open until 8 p.m. for anyone still coming by. WNBJ 39
- ➤ Students at Jackson Christian School gathered Tuesday to honor veterans with a ceremony that began with the pledge of allegiance — a student performed Taps to express their respect for those who served. The event showed clear community appreciation for veterans. WYN 106.9
- ➤ Friends at First will host an Adventures in Learning event on November 20 from noon to 1 p.m. at Clayton Hall where guest speaker Fred McKinnie from Area Relief Ministries will show local residents how they can help unhoused neighbors during the colder months—a suggested $18 donation is required with registration by November 18.
