COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The community in Jackson came together to surprise Chief Deputy Derrick Tisdale with a retirement celebration organized by Lighthouse Church+ marking his 30 years of service at the Jackson Police Department; many residents attended to honor his work.  WYN 106.9
  • Home2 Suites by Hilton at 40 Old Medina Crossing hosted a toy drive on Sunday from 1 until 5 p.m. to collect toys for children at Lebonheur or for animals at Jackson Animal Care Center — visitors also received special photo sessions with Santa and pet photos after 3 p.m.  WYN 106.9

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Jackson-Madison County Schools gathered at Regional Interfaith for the fourth year to put together Thanksgiving meals for local families. Central Office staff and school principals worked together on this event — a tradition that supports families during the holiday season.  The Jackson Post
  • All-Northwest Tennessee Honor Choir kicked off at Freed-Hardeman University this past weekend as over 300 student vocalists from local middle and high schools performed a selected repertoire at the new Dryden Auditorium—organized into a Junior High Choir and a Senior High Choir led by Chairperson Jared Heldenbrand and Director Tasha Moore.  WBBJ-TV
