- ➤ Jackson seniors celebrated the opening of the new Senior Activity Center as over 30 attended a Sit and Fit class while others enjoyed games and social time in the bright, spacious venue—Director Brigette Parham said the center meets long-awaited community needs. - ➤ Martin Middle School changed its math program four years ago by replacing a 45-minute lesson with a 90-minute block split into Core Math for new lessons and Encore Math for personalized practice—an approach that has boosted student test scores. WYN 106.9
- ➤ Jackson Madison County Library invites babies, toddlers, and preschoolers to join free weekly Storytime sessions on selected Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 433 East Lafayette Street—an actively engaged adult must attend with the children. WNBJ 39
- ➤ Jackson State Community College earned full reaffirmation of its accreditation after a week-long review by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges— the review found zero compliance recommendations in its 10-year cycle. - ➤ Lane College has begun a transformative partnership with LocalTek, making it the first HBCU in Tennessee to launch a twelve-week online micro-credentialing course in Digital Marketing or Big Data & Social Justice for students in Mass Communications, Media Arts, and the Lane Honors Program.
