  • Facing a SNAP delay, the Salvation Army in Jackson paused its Angel Tree program to focus on food relief. Olympic Steakhouse in Bells contributed over $50,000 in food donations, and the organization now serves food every Thursday from 9 a.m. to midnight to support neighbors in need.  WNBJ 39
  • AAA urges local drivers to prepare for hazardous winter roads as snow, sleet, and freezing rain are forecast; the Auto Club Group advises keeping at least a half tank of gas (and emergency supplies) and reducing speed on icy roads.  WYN 106.9

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Denver Air Connection marked its first year at Jackson Regional Airport and nears 10,000 passengers with daily flights to Chicago and Atlanta. The airline’s progress supports local growth — airport expansion plans backed by a $10 million grant and seed funding aim to boost future development.  The Jackson Sun

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Jackson Street Department crews are on-call to patrol roads and begin pre-salting if icy weather occurs. Officials advise drivers to call the police if they face an emergency on slick roads.  WNBJ 39

  • USJ lost the state championship game to Nashville Christian in Chattanooga earlier this week. The game showed one team excelling while USJ struggled throughout the match.  The Jackson Post
