Jackson State Community College’s RADT Club is hosting its 2026 fundraiser Buy a Bone where participants donate by purchasing make-believe bones + donation options range from a skull for $1 to a full skeleton for $120, with funds supporting local food banks in Jackson and surrounding communities.
The local Elks Chapter #192 from Jackson will take part in the Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan.
1 in Pasadena, where their float will honor a century of legacy including the 100th Anniversary of the Elks National Memorial (a landmark of community service).
🎭 Culture
Markowski Lights at 1675 Coburn Road in Brownsville will continue to shine with over one million lights until New Year's Eve.
The free drive-thru display runs nightly from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with wind-related adjustments on some evenings.
🏥 Health
Extraordinaire Wellness Center in downtown Jackson hosted a giveaway at 3 p.m. today at 438 East Main Street, offering chicken sandwiches with chips and blankets while supplies last.
The center is now accepting donations to help those in need this winter.
🏈 Sports
Tennessee football will face Illinois in the Music City Bowl tomorrow at Nissan Stadium (5:30 p.m. ET) as the Vols aim for their ninth win amid key player opt-outs and an expected high-scoring shootout.
